Primary
Duties and Responsibilities:

for all financial reporting for development projects
Prepare, accurately and in a timely manner, monthly and quarterly
financial reporting packages.
Prepare monthly cost reporting and variance analysis, budget updates
and budget revisions in a timely manner.
Responsible for reviewing all cash disbursements. Review costs
and overruns and verify that costs are applied to a P.O.

Responsible for the preparation of draw requests.
Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with project managers

Construction Auditor
Summary:
Review
and audit construction contracts, including but not limited to
amendments, change orders, payment applications, schedule of values,
and general conditions. Ensure the timely preparation of high
quality audit communications, reports and supporting documentation
detailing overall assessments, key finding and value added recommendations
that promote effective and efficient solutions to business issues
and risks.
Job Duties:
• Construction audit and advisory, contract compliance.
•
Effectively and efficiently complete project assignments within
planned schedules.
•
Execute detailed audit procedures, including reviewing transactions,
documents, records, reports, and policies and procedures for accuracy
and effectiveness.
•
Maintain accountability for accuracy of audit findings and follow-up
of corrective action.
•
Monitor monthly job costs reports for consistency with contract
activity.
•
Review Contracts, Amendments and Change Orders to assist with
the review and analyzing of the payment applications, schedule
of values, general conditions for accuracy in costs / backup from
the contractors / subcontractors / vendors, etc., for adherence
to contract terms.
•
Review the monthly payment applications for proper reporting of
all costs, fees and charges, etc.
•
Examine change orders for accuracy and supportive documentation.
•
Review labor costs, such as labor burden rates, which are passed
on by contractors to ensure that they are warranted and only for
personnel that are included in the construction contract.
•
Determine if rented equipment was properly invoiced and charged
per the terms of the contract. Review rental rates to be reasonable
and in line with going market rates.
•
Examine contractor bid / proposal records to ensure contract compliance.
•
Review sales and use taxes to ensure appropriate processing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•
Accounting or Finance Degree
•
Work experience with at least 4 years total accounting/auditing
and Real Estate or construction accounting experience.
• Strong accounting background and computer skills required
• Excellent PC skills, including use of spreadsheet and
word-processing programs
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently
• Team player with strong work ethic
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking and writing skills
required
• Willingness to travel
